Room with a View

This project we were given photos that we had to create a building around. My photo was located in Coalstrip, Montana and centered around highlighting the byproduct of coal. The byproduct is called tailings. Here they can be viewed, and even mistaken for mountains, as the center of the photograph. After fully dissecting my image, I wanted to create a building that mirrored the mountains in a similar way that the coal was. I also wanted my viewing area to feel super immersive. Each arch in the building designates a new part of the programming and experience. The form defines the structure.
